Journal Entry #6: 5/10-11/25
Purple is her favorite color.
Before I begin today’s main journal entry, I wanted to share a quick update about a special addition we made to the garden, and how we conquered the most recent Valley heat wave . . .
👒 5/10/25 : Brief Garden Notes
Star jasmine has made her delightful appearance in our garden—she is sweet and full of flowers that dance confidently up the wooden trellis.
Like a branch abides to the vinedresser, so does this powerfully fragrant and grace-filled plant.
Praise report—we successfully survived the tragic three-day heat wave that loomed over our city. Although the plants went into a brief state of shock, through some extra kindness, water, and loving care, they bounced back in no time. Diligence has been key as we adapt to the climbing heat patterns, which have arrived earlier than expected this year. But God has made us prepared, and we are ready to confidently tackle each new challenge as it arises!
For fun, here are some facts on Star Jasmine—
*The Official Name is: Trachelospermum jasminoides
*Enjoys dwelling in partial shade but loves full sun.
*Occasional watering, but is by no means a heavy drinker.
*Hummingbirds are attracted to this vine!
*Versatile and non toxic to pets (so Mr. Ripples is having a blast).
*A sweet fragrance, almost like a rich vanilla.
*Native to Japan and China.
